Caroline Jose, PhD
Caroline, originally from France where she completed a PhD in Molecular Pathophysiology, now lives in New Brunswick, Canada. She is a patient-oriented researcher and a national leader in patient engagement and participatory knowledge mobilization, having trained hundreds of researchers, clinicians, trainees, and patient partners across Canada in collaborative design for research and education.
Her research program focuses on the health and well-being of autistic adults and on understanding the complex co-occurrence of mental and physical health conditions in neurodivergent people and families.
Caroline’s commitment to cognitive diversity, social justice, and shared leadership is deeply rooted in her own neurodivergent family. This lived experience fuels her extensive volunteer work to transform how communities and institutions understand and support neurodivergent people, bridging personal insight with research expertise.
She is the founder of Neurodacity, the Centre of Expertise and Research in Neurodivergence of New Brunswick; serves as Vice President of the Autism Resource Centre of Southeastern NB; sits on the Wisdom Council of the Neurodiversity Foundation; and leads Canada’s annual participation in International Neurodiversity Pride Day.
